1956 Harmony H42 Stratotone Newport Vintage Electric Guitar with a Colorama Metallic Green finish. This guitar is 100% all original and sounds fantastic. It has a very chunky neck and is a blast to play. It weighs just 4.54 pounds. It has a 25" scale length and a 1.72" nut width. The neck thickness measures 0.980" at the 1st fret and 1.161" at the 12th fret.

Overall in excellent condition for its age. The Colorama Metallic Green finish has faded to a darker color when compared to the original finish seen under the pickguard. There are some light scuffs throughout that you would expect from a guitar this old. All hardware looks great and the original pickup's chrome cover is still shiny and clean. The pickguard has cracked a little by the input jack but has been secured and reglued back together from the underneath side. The finish on the back of the neck has worn down a bit. The neck is straight with the perfect amount of neck relief. String action at the 12th fret is currently set to a medium-high 3mm using light .010-.046 strings, and there is no fret buzzing anywhere. The rosewood fingerboard is very clean. There is just a tiny hint of fretwear with tons of fret life left. All frets have been polished to a bright shine. No issues with the headstock and the original tuners work great. All electronics are original and work perfectly. The pickup and the potentiometer both date to 1956.

Does not include a case or any accessories.

This guitar features a metallic jungle green "Colorama" finish. The metal-and-rubber "Harmometal" body trim this is a fantastic example of 1950's "Populuxe" aesthetics. The through-body neck is very large, but the body wings are very thin and light. The through-body neck is very chunky, topped with a dot-inlaid rosewood fingerboard. The body is made up of two glued-on side wings and is very thin and light. The single chrome-plated "Hershey Bar" pickup is the same simple DeArmond made unit as the more upscale H-44 and quite chunky sounding. The compact controls are a single tone-bypass switch and a cool stacked tower of concentric tone and volume knobs.
