1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom Left-Handed Electric Guitar with a Tobacco Sunburst finish. This lefty guitar is all original, including the original pickups and electronics. It features a factory-original Gibson Schaller wide-travel 'harmonica' tune-o-matic bridge. The guitar weighs 10.20 pounds. The neck thickness measures 0.780" at the 1st fret and 0.963" at the 12th fret. This is a great playing vintage LP with a ton of character, and the original pickups sound excellent.
There are typical scratches and tiny dings throughout as you would expect from a guitar this old. The clear coat finish still shines brightly. There is one tiny hairline crack in the top near the bridge volume and tone controls, however it does not appear to go all the way through. All binding looks good with usual yellowing. The back of the body has some worming. The rear strap button was relocated slightly, and the original hole is still present. The neck is perfectly straight. The back of the neck's finish has faded in certain spots from playing, but it is very smooth and can't be felt while playing. The original frets still have a lot of life left, and all frets have been polished. The headstock has some usual light scuffs around the edges. The original tuners work perfectly. The original pickups date to 1979, and all potentiometers date to 1978. The cavity shield also dates to 1979.
Includes a non-original SKB hardshell case. The case fits the guitar well and all latches work. However, the handle is missing. Otherwise in good working condition.
