1992 Ibanez PS10 Iceman Limited Edition Reissue Electric Guitar. This is in overall great condition and everything works perfectly. The build quality on this is outstanding, and Ibanez spared no expense in building these very first Paul Stanley reissues. It weighs just 7.87 pounds and has a 1.736" nut width. It has a 24.75" scale length. The neck thickness measures 0.799" at the 1st fret and 0.947" at the 12th fret.
For such an old guitar, there is little actual playwear. This is a very glossy black guitar so swirls and pickmarks will show up under direct lighting. There's a few dings throughout but nothing major. There is a small paint blemish on the lower horn. All hardware looks fantastic with no patina showing. The body's binding has some slight discoloration. The back of the body has some light worming, and a couple small checking marks. The control cavity cover has been replaced with a clear plastic cover. The back of the neck is very clean and smooth with no blemishes to note. The dark rosewood fingerboard looks outstanding. There's just a hint of fretwear on the first couple frets, otherwise the jumbo frets look new and have just been polished to a bright shine. The headstock is in great shape with no blemishes. The truss rod works and the neck is straight. The tuners work perfectly. All electronics are original with zero issues.
Includes the original hardshell case in overall good condition. However, the middle lock does not latch. The two outside latches work fine, as does the handle. The exterior of the case has typical scuffs and wear from storage. The interior of the case looks fantastic for its age. Does not include the original mirror pickguard or any accessories.
Ibanez PS10 Iceman Limited Reissue 1992 Black
The PS10R is a solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1992. It is a signature model of guitarist Paul Stanley of the American hard rock band KISS. The PS10R is also referred to in some cases as the IC1000 or perhaps the IC500.
The PS10R features a mahogany body with a maple top with a set-in maple neck with bound rosewood fingerboard with block inlays. The body has a multi-layer binding with abalone center which extends to the headstock. Components include a fixed bridge with decorative tailpiece and dual Ibanez Vintage humbucking pickups with individual volume controls. It has a chrome pickguard and clear truss rod cover printed with "PS10 Limited Reissue".
The PS10R was released to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the founding of KISS. It is a reissue of Stanley's original PS10 from the late 70s. It is believed that just over 500 (perhaps 511) PS10Rs were produced. Of these, 200 were earmarked for the US market and these have an inlay at the 21st fret which reads "20th Anniversary". The remaining examples which primarily went to Japan and Europe have "Limited Reissue" inlays instead. All PS10Rs also have a number stamped at the 22nd fret which is perhaps a production number, although that is unclear.
The PS10R was a spot model which never appeared in any Ibanez catalog. However, a couple of years later followed the PS10II, PS10LTD and PS10CL models which had full production runs.
