MINT 1983 Fender Bowling Ball American Stratocaster Red Swirl Marble Vintage Electric Guitar

Like-new 1983 Fender "Bowling Ball" Stratocaster with a Red Swirl Marble finish. This guitar is collector-grade new old stock, in brand new condition, and still has the plastic wrap on the pickguard. There is no other bowling ball strat in the world of this grade. Everything works perfectly. Includes the original hardshell case and tremolo arm.

As the hair metal wars shifted into high gear, Fender sought to up its own bling game by releasing a guitar with a marbled paint job. Only 300 were ever made; 225 of them were Stratocasters. Named Marble Strats, they became more commonly known as “bowling ball” Stratocasters. Introduced in 1983, these were among the last CBS-era instruments made in the US before Fender was sold, and production moved (for the time being) to Japan. Discontinued after only a year, the bowling balls have become collectible. This guitar is a collector's item and special not only because of the paint job, but because of the tremolo that was used on this series.
