2016 Fender Custom Shop '58 Journeyman Relic Stratocaster Electric Guitar with a Chocolate 3-tone Sunburst finish and Maple Fingerboard. This guitar is overall great condition with little actual wear. There is just a tiny hint of fretwear on the first few frets but is barely visible. All frets have just been polished to a bright shine and the guitar plays great with low action and no buzzing anywhere. The strap buttons have been swapped with locking strap buttons, but the original relic strat buttons are included.
Includes the original hardshell case along with all accessories, including the signed Certificate of Authenticity COA.
Built to capture the essence of late '50s Stratocasters, the Fender Custom Shop 1958 Journeyman Relic Stratocaster offers much more than road-worn looks. The lightweight alder body with comfortably deep contours feels great to play, while the quartersawn maple neck with large "C" profile lets you really grab on and dig in. Three Fat '50s Stratocaster single-coil pickups deliver everything from chiming cleans to barking grind, with ultra-low noise thanks to the reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickup. With a well-played feel and iconic tone, the Fender Custom Shop 1958 Journeyman Relic Stratocaster deserves a place in any serious guitar collection.
Fender Custom Shop 1958 Journeyman Relic Stratocaster Solidbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:Classic vintage tone abounds with the Fender Custom Shop Fat '50s Stratocaster pickups. They're loaded with Alnico V magnets with Formvar-coated wire, fiber bobbins, cloth-covered lead wires, and staggered, hand-beveled pole pieces, yielding the glassy highs and warm lows you'd expect from vintage pickups. These pickups don't stop there, however. Hot-rodded wiring also delivers higher output and enhanced bass response, providing you with a healthy dose of 21st-century attitude.
Quartersawn neck delivers exceptional stability and playabilityThe neck is one of the most important aspects of any instrument, which is why this Fender Custom Shop 1958 Journeyman Relic Stratocaster solidbody electric guitar features a quartersawn maple neck. Besides looking good, the straight grain of quartersawn necks is about 50% more stable than plain-sawn necks, and less likely to warp, twist, or shrink. Down low, your fretting hand will appreciate the 9.5" radius that keeps things nice and comfortable for natural, relaxed arpeggio work.
Relic finish and hardware for vintage vibeAs you can imagine, a true 1958 Strat would show signs of wear and tear, and this Fender Custom Shop 1958 Journeyman Relic Stratocaster solidbody electric guitar is finished to represent those years of playing. The worn finish on the body and neck, and the aged and slightly rusty hardware, will make you wonder if it really isn't a true vintage guitar. This 1958 Journeyman Relic Stratocaster is sure to please even the pickiest of guitar lovers.
